A new exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic Band 4 Nurse Associate to join our existing team on the Clinical Research Facility (CRF).

As a member of the core clinical research facility (CRF) nursing team you will have opportunities to develop skills and knowledge in both research and cancer nursing helping to care for people receiving new and innovative treatments within the context of clinical trials including early phase and first in human treatments.
An ability to work - days, evenings, night shifts and occasional weekends is a requirement of the job.
Band 4 Nurse Associates will have the opportunity to work within a supportive environment, developing excellent skills and knowledge with support from our experienced CRF team, Research Nurses and Practice education Facilitator.

The Christie is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, treating over 60,000 patients a year. We are based in Manchester and serve a population of 3.2 million across Greater Manchester & Cheshire, but as a national specialist around 15% patients are referred to us from other parts of the country.

EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Responsible for their own personal development, identifying learning needs and in producing and maintaining a Personal Development Plan, in conjunction with the ward/department manager.
Responsible for developing and sustaining own knowledge, clinical skills and professional awareness.
Reflect on and analyse workplace experiences to develop own skills/abilities/competence and performance.
Participation in relevant Clinical Audits as per Trust guidance and National requirements.
Complete competency modules, assessments and updates relevant to the ward/department.
Annually attend all mandatory study days as per Trust and ward/department guidance.

PERSONAL

Work within own personal/professional parameters of practice at all times and to be aware of limitations, seeking help from others to maintain safe practice.
Understand own level of responsibility and accountability in relation to registered practitioners.
Demonstrate a pleasant and approachable manner and help create and promote a good working relationship.
Communicate effectively and appropriately in the giving and receiving of verbal and written communications.
Show professional and courteous manner when answering the telephone and other enquires
Maintain confidentiality with regard to patient information both at work and outside of working hours
Maintain professional boundaries and working relationships with patients and colleagues.
To be aware of and adhere to all policies: including sickness and absence, confidentiality, uniform and responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act and be familiar with all risk assessments pertinent to ward/department.
Night shifts and weekend working may occasionally be required to meet the clinical needs of the service.
Report and record all accidents and complaints according to the agreed policy.
