Clinical Duties Deliver care in line with NMC standards for Nursing Associates. Perform and record clinical observations. Undertake venepuncture. Conduct ECGs and routine health checks.
Provide wound care, dressings, and suture/staple removal. Support with long-term condition monitoring (e.g., diabetes, asthma, COPD) within scope of competence. Administer vaccinations and immunisations (if appropriately trained). Provide lifestyle advice, smoking cessation support, and health promotion.
Support delivery of NHS Health Checks and annual reviews. Accurately record patient data on clinical systems in line with practice policies and NMC requirements. Professional Responsibilities Work within professional boundaries and recognise limits of own competence, escalating to a Registered Nurse or GP as appropriate. Maintain professional registration with the NMC.
Participate in continuing professional development and mandatory training. Contribute to infection prevention and control measures. Support safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults in line with practice policies. Engage in audit, quality improvement, and service development activities.
Team Responsibilities Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated patient care. Support training and supervision of HCAs, students, and apprentices where appropriate. Contribute to achievement of QOF, Enhanced Services, and other practice priorities
