The Nursing Coordinator Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all clinical support activities in the Practice and for providing professional clinical assistance to patients within the practice supporting the physicians. Working directly with the physicians, the Nurse Coordinator is the liaison between the patient and the physicians for establishing and maintaining quality patient care and will perform all duties in accordance with clinic protocols and procedures. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: Perform routine duties to include but not limited to the following: Phlebotomy Patient Education / Training Clinical Staff Training and Maintenance of Competencies Insurance authorization (Medications/Procedures) Utilize clinical teamwork to oversee the interdisciplinary plan of care: Assess the patient and family as appropriate Plan and implement clinical care and facilitates its delivery to patients and family members Evaluate the process and outcome of clinical services in the practice and make suggestions for improvement Document according to practice policies and procedures Practice and promote professional clinical care within legal and ethical standards Provide education/consultation as needed to other health care team members and to patients and families Assist with determining appropriate staffing levels and recruitment efforts for new clinical staff Assist with evaluating clinical staff performance and completion of performance evaluations Assist with development and implementation of policies and procedures Maintain adequate medical supply and pharmaceutical inventory and assist in placing orders as necessary As a member of clinic management, ensure that the practice meets all code and accreditation standards (OSHA, DPH, JCAHO, CLIA, HIPAA) Administer vaccinations and injections and other infusions as needed Triage telephone calls and schedule urgent care appointments Maintain frequent contact with outside providers and agencies to facilitate and coordinate patient care Maintain professional license through practice-based continuing education programs (The above statements in this job description are intended to depict the general nature and level of work assigned to the employee(s) in this job. The above is not intended to represent an exhaustive list of accountable duties and responsibilities required) Job Requirements REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Associate’s degree from a nursing program or equivalent combination of education and experience PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BSN preferred. Three (3) or more years in a clinical setting, preferably in office settings related to internal medicine sub-specialties. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: Current license to practice as a registered nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with authorization by the Board of Registration in Nursing to practice in an expanded role. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS PREFERRED: N/A KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSAs): Expert clinical judgment and ability to be self-directive and demonstrate initiative in an expanded role. Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills. Full command (verbal and written) of the English language. Demonstrated ability to apply principles of adult learning to provide effective patient and/or family education. Organizational skills to set priorities and efficiently complete assigned work. Effective interpersonal skills to facilitate communication with the various members of the health care team, patients and families. Computer proficiency inclusive of the ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data/information required. Compensation Range: $66,500.00- $96,500.00 This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications.
