Description Position Summary The Nursing House Supervisor serves as the hospital’s on-shift clinical leader, overseeing nursing operations, staffing coordination, crisis response, and patient care support across the organization. This position provides hands-on leadership, coaching, and operational oversight while ensuring compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best practices in pediatric behavioral health care. The House Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining a therapeutic and safe environment for patients, families, and staff. Key Responsibilities Provide hospital-wide nursing leadership during assigned shifts Coordinate staffing, assignments, workload balancing, and call-off coverage Serve as the first responder to behavioral crises, emergencies, and safety events Lead de-escalation efforts and coordinate multidisciplinary crisis response Support and mentor nursing staff through real-time coaching and clinical guidance Monitor patient care quality, safety, supervision, and therapeutic effectiveness Ensure compliance with documentation standards, policies, and regulatory requirements Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, admissions, and nursing leadership Assist with admissions, transfers, staffing coverage, and direct patient care as needed Serve as acting administrative authority during off-shift hours when nursing leadership is unavailable Help resolve patient, family, and employee concerns professionally and effectively What We’re Looking For Strong leadership presence with the ability to make sound clinical decisions under pressure Excellent communication, organization, and conflict resolution skills Ability to coach, mentor, and support nursing staff in a collaborative manner Commitment to trauma-informed, patient- and family-centered care Ability to multitask and adapt in a high-acuity behavioral health environment Physical ability to safely intervene during behavioral emergencies and perform approved crisis management techniques This position starts at $48.76 per hour and offers a comprehensive benefit package. Applicants may be eligible for up to $30,000 in student loan assistance. Requirements Required Current RN license in the State of Montana or compact state Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children and adolescents in a mental health setting Ability to work flexible schedules and shifts CPI APS certification within 2 months of hire Ability to maintain all required hospital certifications Preferred BSN Previous Charge Nurse, Team Lead, or Supervisory experience Experience in psychiatric hospital or residential treatment settings
