This job implements information systems required for patient care initiatives. Evaluates applications or vendors to best meet the needs of the organization, provides technical training and support to end users and is familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and provides end user testing and validation of content and workflow. Provides clinical and technical expertise to application implementation. Facilitates practice model education and communication.

EDUCATION

Required - Bachelors degree in nursing or allied health field.
Preferred - Master’s degree in education or allied health field.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required - 3 years of experience in a clinical practice setting including 2 years experience supporting automated information systems and experience teaching / presenting one on one, in a group session or in front of a large audience (including providers).

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)

  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to travel throughout and between facilities and work a flexible schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability).
Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and facilitates projects through their entire lifecycle.
  • Leads the installation and testing of application enhancements and any necessary software upgrades.
  • Leads the design, presentation, and evaluation of educational offerings and materials.
  • Leads the design of ongoing audit tools, serve as resource regarding audits of open/dosed chart review, order entry, billing, and other automated functions.
  • Assists managers and/or users in problem identification and participates in problem resolution activities.
  • Provides ongoing reinforcement and clarification with management and staff regarding the effective use of the system.
  • Develops, utilizes, and maintains required records for the departments, the organization, and other regulatory agencies, including monthly reports of project/ educational activities.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
