Duties and Responsibilities: As Nursing Manager for Pre‑Assessment, you will hold full accountability for the clinical, professional and operational leadership of the service. Key responsibilities will include: * Providing strategic and operational leadership of the Pre‑Assessment service, ensuring the delivery of consistently safe, effective and high‑quality patient care * Leading the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care across multiple clinical teams, ensuring best practice and patient‑centred pathways * Acting as a visible and credible senior clinical leader, developing and motivating teams through effective performance management, coaching and professional development * Driving operational performance against agreed key performance indicators, ensuring the efficient, sustainable running of the department * Embedding strong clinical governance, risk management and quality improvement frameworks into everyday practice * Leading clinical audit programmes, service evaluations and improvement initiatives, translating findings into meaningful and measurable outcomes * Ensuring full compliance with all regulatory, statutory and professional requirements, including CQC standards and NMC Code of Conduct * Managing resources responsibly, including workforce planning, rota management and stock control, in partnership with finance and operational colleagues * Building effective, collaborative relationships with consultants, senior leaders and external stakeholders to support service delivery and future growth * Championing innovation and continuous improvement to enhance service efficiency, patient experience and clinical outcomes * Promoting a culture of equality, diversity and inclusion, ensuring a respectful, supportive and inclusive working environment * Maintaining the highest standards of information governance, ensuring patient data is managed accurately, securely and in line with data protection legislation Who we are looking for: We’re seeking an experienced and credible senior nurse leader with the expertise, judgement and drive to lead a high‑performing Pre‑Assessment service. You will bring: * Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the NMC * Proven experience in a Ward Manager, Department Manager or equivalent senior clinical leadership role * Previous experience within the independent healthcare sector (desirable but highly advantageous) * Significant perioperative nursing experience, with a strong understanding of patient pathways * Demonstrable experience in clinical audit, governance, risk management and quality improvement initiatives * A recognised management or leadership qualification, or active progression towards one * Clear evidence of ongoing continuous professional development and commitment to maintaining clinical excellence * Highly developed leadership, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels * A proactive, forward‑thinking approach, with the confidence to drive service development and continuous improvement Working Hours: Full Time 37.5hrs pw Contract:  Permanent  Benefits: We offer employees a competitive salary as well as a comprehensive benefits package which includes but is not limited to: * 35 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays * Private medical insurance * Free Bupa Wellness Screening  * Employer and employee contributory pension with flexible retirement options * ‘Spire for you’ reward platform – discount and cashback for over 100 retailers * Life assurance We commit to our employee’s well-being through work life balance, on-going development, support and reward.
