REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Registered nurses with current College of Nurses of Ontario Licensure
  • Degree in health professions/discipline with related curriculum ( B.ScN)
  • Work experience as a professional nurse in community environment
  • Minimum 2 years of supervised experience as an RN
  • Current Healthcare Provider training (BCLS or ACLS)
  • Computer skills, including e-mail, word processing, work scheduling systems and related organization’s software.
  • Ability to prepare clear concise reports
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels
  • Ability to work well as a team leader and member
  • Able to review clinical work according to professional standards and practice guidelines.
  • Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
Responsibilities

Provision of professional supervisory nursing practice in care of the patients who are in facilities and home care settings. Acts as an advocate of client to facilitate positive outcomes. Acts as a role model to all categories of staff. This position is accountable for the development of, review and adherence to all policies and practices.

  • Work with client care managers, nurse managers, directors or administrator ( depending on the client settings) on all staffing related issues and concerns.
  • Receive report from staffing coordinators and act accordingly
  • Serve as administrative authority for the smooth function of NHI staff on the various patient care settings.
  • Communicate accordingly with the various personnel as may be appropriate on urgent concerns during the shift
  • Complete evaluations of personnel where necessary
  • Visiting clients in community and completing and updating nursing care plans
  • Conduct chart audits
  • Provide guidance and support for work flow management
  • Obtain supplies for clients from service providers
  • Participate in fire drills
  • Perform client visits on a weekly and as may be necessary basis
  • Assist with development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures
  • Serve on Accreditation Committee Team
