ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, or equivalent
  • Nursing qualification (Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse) or relevant clinical experience in complex care
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Manual Handling and Infection Control training (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check or current Working with Children Check and Police Check
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle (if community access is involved)
  • Strong understanding of professional boundaries, privacy, and duty of care
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced NDIS Support Worker with a nursing background or relevant clinical experience to provide high-quality care and support to participants with paraplegia and significant physical support needs. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for person-centred care and the ability to manage complex personal care tasks safely and respectfully.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver hands-on personal care, including:
  • Showering, dressing, toileting, continence care
  • Manual handling and hoist transfers
  • Assistance with mobility and positioning
  • Support clients with medication administration (as per NDIS guidelines and client care plans)
  • Assist with feeding and mealtime management, including PEG feeding (if applicable)
  • Monitor participants’ physical and emotional wellbeing, reporting any changes promptly
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided
  • Assist clients with daily living activities and community access
  • Promote and uphold clients’ dignity, independence, and choices at all times
  • Work collaboratively with allied health professionals, families, and other team members
