JOB SUMMARY

The Dietary Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the dietary department within a healthcare or institutional setting. This position is responsible for ensuring that all food service activities comply with food safety regulations and standards while providing high-quality meals to residents or clients. The Dietary Supervisor will lead a team of dietary staff, manage food preparation and handling processes, and ensure exceptional customer service is delivered at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in supervising food service operations within a healthcare or restaurant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations related to food preparation and handling.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on meeting the needs of clients or residents.
  • Previous experience in food preparation or restaurant management is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and clients.
  • Knowledge of dietary needs and restrictions is an asset but not mandatory.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of dietary staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Oversee food preparation, serving, and handling processes to maintain compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Train and mentor staff on proper food handling techniques, sanitation practices, and customer service skills.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan menus that meet dietary restrictions and preferences of residents or clients.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as necessary to ensure adequate stock.
  • Address any customer service issues promptly and effectively, ensuring a positive dining experience for all clients.
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen facilities and equipment to ensure cleanliness and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records related to food service operations, including staff schedules, inventory logs, and compliance documentation.
