Forest Lake Senior High is seeking a reliable and energetic Nutrition Assistant to support our Cook Manager in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals to students and staff. Your Role Will Include: Assisting with food preparation following standardized recipes for regular and alternate menus. Supporting baking activities for daily lunch service. Setting up and maintaining serving lines to ensure quality and appropriate portioning. Serving meals to students and staff in a friendly, professional manner. Assisting with cashiering duties, including handling payments, answering routine questions, maintaining records, balancing revenue reports, and supporting accountability procedures. Operating concession stands as assigned. Supporting food service clean-up, including operating the dishwasher, washing dishes and utensils, sanitizing equipment, and restocking supplies. Assisting with special events and providing coverage for team members as needed. Qualifications: Preferred: Previous food service or related experience. Specific training in food preparation or customer service. Basic Fundamentals Certificate (required within one year of hire). Strong housekeeping and clean-up skills. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift at least 25 pounds. Ability to stand 4–6 hours at a time. Ability to lift, reach, bend, stretch, and squat. Must be in good physical health and condition. Salary and Benefits: $17.98 – $21.78/hour. Location & Shift Times: Forest Lake Senior High. 4 hours/day, Monday through Friday, within the hours of 9:15 AM - 1:30 PM.
Responsibilities
The Nutrition Assistant will support the Cook Manager by assisting with food preparation according to standardized recipes, supporting baking activities, and setting up and maintaining serving lines for meal service. Duties also include serving meals professionally, assisting with cashiering, operating concessions, and supporting all necessary clean-up procedures.
