As part of this commitment, the Company is expanding its wellness offerings to include individualized nutrition education and habit-based coaching focused on sustainable metabolic health. The Nutrition Coach / Health Coach will partner with employees enrolled in the Company’s health plan to provide practical, respectful, and personalized guidance that supports healthier eating behaviors over time. This role is non-clinical in nature and is designed to empower employees through education, accountability, and behavior change—not medical treatment. The Coach will work directly with employees in confidential 1:1 sessions to help them understand food choices, build sustainable eating habits, and improve overall nutrition literacy. This role is educational and coaching-focused and does not include medical diagnosis or treatment. Key Responsibilities Conduct confidential 1:1 nutrition coaching sessions with employees enrolled in the Company’s health plan Initial intake sessions: approximately 60 minutes Follow-up sessions: approximately 30–45 minutes Provide personalized nutrition education and habit-based coaching, including: Practical eating strategies for metabolic health Label-reading education and grocery shopping guidance Use of consumer nutrition tools and apps Goal setting, accountability, and behavior change techniques Maintain a coaching-focused, non-clinical approach, referring participants back to their primary care provider when appropriate Conduct a minimum of two in-person sessions per participant; additional sessions may be offered virtually using a HIPAA-compliant platform Maintain minimal coaching notes within the Coach’s own secure system Provide aggregate, de-identified reporting to HR, including: Participation levels Program completion rates Common nutrition themes or challenges observed across the population Regularly update HR team on general progress and roadblocks. Attend virtual monthly wellness team calls with PA and broker Support program success through professionalism, consistency, and high-quality participant experience Program Scope This role is non-clinical and educational in nature. Coaching services explicitly exclude: Eating disorder treatment Pediatric nutrition Pregnancy or fertility-related nutrition Diabetes medication management or medical nutrition therapy Any activity requiring clinical licensure or diagnosis Schedule and Delivery Model Approximately 12–15 hours per month Onsite presence required in Naperville and Hinsdale, Illinois Initial participant visits coordinated by HR; follow-up scheduling managed directly by the Coach Limited virtual sessions permitted using a HIPAA-compliant platform Contractor Status This role is structured as an independent contractor engagement. The contractor must: Operate as an independent business and manage all tax obligations Maintain the following insurance coverage and provide proof upon request: General Liability Insurance (minimum $1,000,000 per occurrence / $2,000,000 aggregate) Professional Liability (Errors & Omissions) Insurance appropriate for nutrition and health coaching (minimum $1,000,000) Workers’ Compensation insurance if required by law or applicable to the contractor’s business Supply their own tools, systems, and materials required to deliver services Privacy and Confidentiality All coaching sessions must be conducted confidentially Individual participant data and notes remain within the contractor’s secure system The Company will receive only aggregate, de-identified information Any virtual sessions must be delivered through a HIPAA-compliant platform Success in this role will be evaluated based on: Employee participation and engagement Completion of the six-visit coaching program Quality and consistency of education and coaching Employee feedback and satisfaction Contribution to broader population health initiatives Requirements Qualifications Required One or more relevant certifications, such as: National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) Certified Clinical Nutritionist (CCN) Or comparable, nationally recognized nutrition or health coaching credential Minimum 3 years of experience coaching adults on nutrition and lifestyle behavior change Demonstrated experience supporting metabolic health or healthy eating behaviors Strong skills in: Motivational interviewing Active listening Goal setting and habit formation Non-judgmental, participant-centered coaching Familiarity with nutrition tools, apps, and label-reading practices Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality Preferred Experience supporting employees in a corporate or workforce wellness setting Experience working with diverse populations and schedules Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential (preferred but not required)
