WILLIAM E CHRISTOFFERSEN SALT LAKE VETERAN'S HOME IS LOOKING FOR A NUTRITION SERVICES ASSISTANT MANAGER TO JOIN OUR TEAM! $21.00 - $23.73 PR/HR The Nutrition Services Assistant Manager assists the Nutrition Services Manager in the operation of the Dietary Department to include staffing, food ordering and preparation, food delivery and clean-up in accordance with facility policies, physician orders, resident care plans and appropriate regulations.   Full-time are eligible for: * 401K * Medical, Dental & Vision * FSA & Dependent Care FSA * Life Insurance * AD&D, Long Term Disability, Short Term Disability * Critical Illness, Accident, Hospital Indemnity * Legal Benefits, Identity Theft Protection * Pet Insurance and Auto/Home Insurance. RESPONSIBILITIES * Plan Dietary Services: * Plan facility and individual resident menus with the Nutrition Manager, the Dietitian or Dietary Consultant, other department heads, and Company menu program. * Participate in regularly scheduled conferences including Department Head meetings and Interdisciplinary Care Plan meetings when requested by the Nutrition Manager. * Work with the Nutrition Manager to ensure food and supplies are purchased within budget and are timely and available for each meal. * Supervise Food Preparation and Staffing: * Work with the Nutrition Manager to ensure food is nutritional, appetizing, prepared as planned and served in a timely and pleasant manner. * Work with the Nutrition Manager to ensure appropriate meals/snacks are served to residents with special Dietary needs. * Work with the Nutrition Manager to ensure all utensils, dishes, equipment and work areas are cleaned on a timely basis. * Work with the Nutrition Manager to monitor food production maintaining use of standardized recipes and menus and ensuring proper preparation and storage of food and supplies. Maintain the highest level of quality and timeliness of food service. * Unit Supervision /Management: * Interview, hire, train, supervise, evaluate and discipline dietary personnel. Make job assignments and set priorities as requested by the Nutrition Manager. * Participate in Orientating new staff and in recruitment and selection with the Nutrition Manager. * Meet Company policies and state and Federal regulations regarding sanitation and safe food handling techniques. * Assist in developing plan of Correction following state, Federal and QA surveys as needed. * Assist in maintaining records, manage budget and supplies. QUALIFICATIONS * High School diploma, or equivalent. * Certification as a Dietary Services Manager is preferred (may be required if applicable in the state to which you are applying). * Related experience at a level necessary to accomplish the job. * Must possess a Food Handler's permit/ Serve Safe certification as per State requirements.
