Responsibilities

ROLE PURPOSE:

You will be a Nutritionist with a focus towards Children and Young people for the Choose 2 Change Specialist Family Weight Management Service, delivering specialist nutrition, lifestyle and physical activity support to children, young people and their families.
You will be a motivated, passionate, organised, and proactive nutritionist, with significant experience working with families and young people. You will be passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles and delivering motivational change which is client centred. You will have a background in supporting people to build their confidence and ability to make sustainable healthy behaviour changes which works for their personal circumstances.
You will join a specialist team comprising of a GP, Head of Service, therapists, nutritionist, counselling specialists and administrators. You will be involved in contributing to MDT meetings, leading clinics and 1-1 appointments which can occur via telephone, digital platforms or face-to-face community venues across the footprint. SOME ESSENTIAL CRITERIA FOR THE ROLE:

  • Degree in nutrition and registered with Association for Nutrition (AFN), as a Registered Associate Nutritionist (ANutr)
  • Registered with Association for Nutrition (AFN) as a Registered Nutritionist (RNutr)
  • Experience of working with children and young people in a weight management setting and/or a similar setting
  • CIMSPA (previously REPS) qualified Level 2 Gym instructor/Group exercise award or equivalent
  • Registration with CIMSPA (this can be obtained within 6 months of employment)
  • Excellent administration, record keeping and data collection skills
  • Confident and able to produce written reports under tight deadlines
  • Pro-active approach and ability to work on own initiative
  • The ability to travel independently across the organisational footprint including Mansfield and Nottingham
  • Work flexibly and adapt to suit service need including evening and occasional weekend work as required
