About the role Schedule: Monday - Friday // 7am-3pm Sifted is hiring a Dishwasher/Porter on our culinary team. We provide daily breakfast + lunch for some of the hottest startups. We need an extra team member in our kitchen who works well in a fast-paced environment and can help us maintain our food safety and cleanliness standards! In this role, you will work side by side with an experienced executive chef in our commissary kitchen. If you have a desire to learn, are a dedicated and responsible team player, and are looking to cultivate your skills in the kitchen, we want to meet you! What you'll be doing Dishwashing Receiving and storing food shipments Cleaning and organizing walk in and dry storage Cleaning and closing duties (trash, cardboard) Light food prep Communicating with chef and manager about any kitchen related issues Our ideal candidate Has worked in previous kitchen roles such as line cook, prep/dishwasher, porter Has had experience with catering and event servicing Has excellent communication skills Has the ability to bend, twist, and stand Has the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs Perks + benefits Compensation : $20 per hour Company-sponsored health insurance plans, including 100% company-paid HDHP, as well as vision + dental opt-in 401(k) program after six months of employment 80 hours of paid time off with each year of employment; paid company holidays; paid winter break Free lunch during meal service 100% mileage reimbursement + car cleaning subsidy Opportunities to take on larger roles within our organization Eligibility : This position must maintain a ServSafe Food Handler certification Work environment : This position is based in a commercial kitchen Physical requirements : This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

The Dishwasher/Porter will be responsible for dishwashing, receiving and storing food shipments, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen. The role also includes light food prep and communication with the chef and manager regarding kitchen issues.
