Mō te tūranga | About the Role
We have an excellent opportunity to be a part of the International Trade team who deliver and support trade services to Westpac’s international trade customers in trade finance, letters of credit, collections and guarantees.
This is a multifaceted role that will require someone to have exceptional attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines while managing a high volume of work. Ideally you have a strong working knowledge of payments and experience from within a financial services company.

You will provide knowledge, expertise and services to our international trade finance and guarantees customers. This includes:

  • Providing excellent customer service and developing the skills needed to understand import, export, and guarantees products and their associated risks.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate turnaround of trade finance and guarantee tasks for both international and domestic clients and contribution to the achievement of team SLAs.
  • Being an integral part of the team of experts in international trade and working collaboratively to ensure consistent high performance across the team.
  • Adherence to documented processes and controls to ensure risks are managed within business unit risk appetite.
  • Constantly looking for and embracing new ways of doing things which will save time, effort, reduce risks or enhance the customer experience.
  • Supporting trade customers with daily transactions.

Key operational responsibilities will include:

Timely response to queries from internal and external customers.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • International Banking product and industry knowledge
  • Proven ability to handle change, culturally, socially and professionally
  • A desire to embrace change with a positive attitude

  • Previous banking experience and an understanding of international trade products and bonds and guarantees would be beneficial.
