Description
Description and Responsibilities The Oasis program partner's with Harrington Hospital to provide 6-12 months of residential recovery services to 16 adults who have both mental health and substance use disorders. Oasis is not a typical group home environment – our model is to support all paths to wellness and recovery including yoga, meditation, smart recovery, therapy animals, 12-step programs, and more. Recovery Specialists assist individuals with their recovery process as they live with substance addiction and mental health challenges. They help create a healing and supportive environment – an ‘Oasis,’ if you will. They support individuals through challenging times and personal crises by talking with them, helping them problem solve, being a compassionate support, and a person they can confide in. Additionally, because you will be preparing meals to share with the residents, free food is an added perk! Other Key Responsibilities: Assist in completing assessments, treatment plans, and other required documentation in a timely manner. Provide transportation as needed. Prepare meals according to menu and share meal time with residents to build relationships. Ability to plan and facilitate activities, treatment groups, and outings. Qualifications Oasis is a facility that is contractually obligated to have co-ed staffing. This is a position that must be filled by a male or non-binary candidate. High School Diploma or equivalent. Alternative education/experience in lieu of formal education will be considered. Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record. Reliability, willingness to learn, and a compassion for those who are struggling.
