Eastern Shawnee Staffing Services, in partnership with Indian Health Services (IHS), is seeking experienced OB/GYN Registered Nurses (RNs) for a long-term contract at Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses passionate about women’s health, labor & delivery, and postpartum care to make a meaningful impact in an underserved community. Start Date: June / July Schedule: Full-time | Day & Night Shifts Available Hours: 36–48 hours per week (12-hour shifts) Contract Length: Minimum 6 month Up to 1 year with additional extension options Available Location: Shiprock, NM Facility Info: https://www.ihs.gov/navajo/healthcarefacilities/shiprock/ What You’ll Do Provide direct patient care in an inpatient OB/GYN setting, including Labor & Delivery and postpartum care Monitor maternal and fetal status during labor using appropriate assessment tools Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments Provide care for postpartum mothers and newborns Educate patients and families on childbirth, recovery, and newborn care Respond to obstetric emergencies and collaborate with providers and care teams Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) What We Offer Competitive compensation Medical, dental, and vision benefits PTO, sick time, and paid holidays Split compensation to include Per Diem pay for housing and incidentals Flexible scheduling with block shifts available Travel and local candidates welcome Additional Details Fully onsite role Hospital setting serving OB/GYN and newborn patient population Credentialing process may take up to 90 days Additional Duties Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Requirements Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program (ADN or BSN required) Minimum 2-3 years of RN experience Minimum of 2 years of recent OB/GYN, Labor & Delivery, or Women’s Health inpatient experience required Must be a U.S. citizen living primarily in the United States Must be able to pass a federal security clearance Qualifications Active, unrestricted RN license (any U.S. state accepted) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required Fetal Monitoring certification (AWHONN or equivalent) required Experience with labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (LDRP) care Previous experience with Indian Health Services (IHS), Tribal Health, or underserved populations preferred Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills Experience with EHR systems required Required immunizations must be up to date
