Status: Full-Time, 0.75 FTE Shift: 12-hours (Nights, Weekends, Holidays) JOB SUMMARY: Demonstrates knowledge of the nursing process as a standard, incorporating elements of holistic family centered care through the collection, verification and organization of data about a patient’s health status, planning for care, implementation of the plan and evaluation. Adherence to St Peter’s Behavioral Standards. KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: OB TRACK: Care of the laboring, antepartum, and postpartum (couplet) patient. Ability to circulate for cesarean within six months of hire PEDS TRACK: Care of the neonatal, postpartum (couplet), and pediatric patient EDUCATION: Graduate of professional school of nursing. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: Current Montana License as a Registered Nurse. BLS certification required OB TRACK: Requires NRP, ACLS and STABLE certification within 12 months of hire. Basic Fetal Monitoring during orientation (6 months) and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring at one year. Then intermediate or advanced FM every 2 years thereafter. PEDS TRACK: Requires NRP, STABLE, and PALS certification within 12 months of hire. After two years experience the following certifications are strongly encouraged: OB TRACK: Inpatient OB, Lactation, EFM optional PEDS TRACK: Pediatric, Lactation Aptitudes: Ability to achieve cognitive, organization and emotional maturity to deal effectively with multiple tasks, stresses, deadlines, difficult situations and/or customers. Possesses interpersonal/communication skills necessary for effective, non-judgmental, and empathetic patient care and customer relations. Open to feedback and open to a changing environment, which requires flexibility in scheduling and department assignments. UNIT SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: SOS call, Holiday rotation as assigned, Education Quadrant, participation in the Five-Year plan as determined by Unit Council annually.
