JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

The OB Tech II is a certified, non-licensed, OR Technician with additional duties in the specialty unit. The OB Tech II is responsible, under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, for selected tasks in the administration of patient care within the Labor and Delivery operating room suites and labor room suites.   • Assists with surgical procedures in scrub duties, and in the orientation, training, and education of new personnel
  • Assists RN before, during, and after deliveries with patient and room care, set up, and cleaning; assists RN with transporting patients and belongings as directed, as well as clerical duties or other duties as assigned in order to facilitate the continuum of care for each patient
  • Facilitates the provision of individualized patient care
  • Reports to the Registered Nurse on each case and the Clinical Manager and the Director of Women and Children’s’ Services

REQUIREMENTS:

  • OR technician course completion certificate or eligible experience permissible by board to sit for certification exam
  • Current OR Technician Certification Required
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BCLS Required
  • One-year experience in acute-care setting preferred
