Description

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Requirements Gathering - Understanding business needs, identifying key performance indicators (KPIs), and defining the scope of the BI solution.
  • Source System Analysis - Identifying data sources, assessing data quality, and determining the best approach for data integration.
  • Data Warehouse Design
  • Designing the physical and logical data models (including star schema) within the data warehouse, ensuring data consistency and efficient data retrieval.
  • ETL (Extract, Transform, Load)
  • Designing and implementing the process of extracting data from source systems, transforming it to fit the data warehouse schema, and loading it into the data warehouse.
  • Repository Development Building and configuring the OBIEE repository, which defines the metadata for the BI solution, including data mappings, security, and caching mechanisms. Dashboards and Reports
  • Developing interactive dashboards, reports, and other visualizations using tools like OBIEE Answers and BI Publisher.
  • Security Configuration - Implementing user authentication, authorization, and data access controls within OBIEE.
  • Performance Tuning - Optimizing OBIEEs performance by using techniques like caching, aggregations, and efficient SQL queries.
  • Testing and QA - Thoroughly testing the BI solution to ensure it meets requirements, functions correctly, and performs as expected.
  • Deployment and Maintenance - Deploying the BI solution to a production environment, monitoring its performance, and providing ongoing support and maintenance.
  • Understanding OBIEE Architecture - Familiarizing oneself with the different components of the OBIEE architecture, including the physical, business, and presentation layers. Utilizing OBIEE Tools
  • Proficiency in using tools like the OBIEE Administration tool, OBIEE Visual Analyzer, and other BI tools.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving - Identifying and resolving performance issues, data quality problems, and other technical issues that may arise during the life cycle of the BI solution.
  • Staying Up-to-Date - Keeping abreast of new OBIEE versions, updates, and best practices to deliver a full cycle knowledge of OBIEE involving understanding the entire process of creating and maintaining a BI solution, from inception to ongoing optimization, and utilizing the relevant tools and techniques at each stage
