The Obstetrical Services Patient Coordinator plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the activities of OB/Peds nursing services. The Obstetrical Services Patient Coordinator completes these responsibilities in a manner, which is consistent with the mission, vision, values, goals, and objectives of Huron Regional Medical Center. Accountable for nursing care from admission through post-discharge. Requirements Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in the State of South Dakota. Minimum of two years clinical experience, including progressively responsible experience in nursing management. Following a formal orientation, proficiency expected within six months. Knowledge of current trends in nursing/health care. Constantly requires a high degree of social sensitivity and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients, groups of clients, and health care personnel within and outside the agency. Proceeds on own initiative, exercises independent judgement. Demonstrates leadership abilities; possesses good oral and written communication skills. Working Conditions: Requires frequent walking, standing, sitting, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, feeling, talking, hearing and moderate (exerting/lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly) lifting of clients and equipment. Risks exposure to communicable or infectious disease and injury from performance of assigned duties. Subject to inside environmental conditions (protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change) and to atmospheric conditions (one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation). Failure to comply with standards of nursing care of HRMC may result in consequences to continued employment.
