Elves Special Needs Society (Elves) is growing and we are looking for team members to join our multidisciplinary School Program services for the 2025/2026 school year that runs until June 30, 2026. 10 months of earnings are equalized and paid over a 12 month period when school is not in session.
Elves employs over 190 staff including certificated teachers, educational assistants, instructors, occupational and physical therapists, speech and language pathologists, therapy assistants , nurses, socials workers and behavioural consultants . Annually, Elves serves over 350 individuals aged three into late adulthood.
We are seeking motivated individuals who enjoy working with children and youth with developmental disabilities including complex physical, cognitive and neurodevelopmental profiles.
This is a full-time position with supervision offered by Elves’ Occupational and Physical Therapists.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A diploma from a recognized post-secondary combined occupational therapy and physical therapy assistant program;
  • Knowledge of paediatric intervention and experience working with individuals with severe disabilities in small groups or independently;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Experience working with persons with neurodiverse or complex medical profiles;
  • Ability to meet, model and teach skills such as lifting, pulling, pushing, transferring and transporting students and equipment;
  • Ability to manage aggressive behaviours through positive behavioural supports;
  • Seating and equipment-related experiences are an asset;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Advanced problem solving, assessment and analytical skills;
  • Skills to facilitate the consultant role through education, training and assisting other professionals and caregivers.
    Hours: 35 hours per week
    Salary range $21.00 – 26.00/hour based on experience and education
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $17.75-$28.26 per hour
    Expected hours: 35 per week
