Your role at St John of God South East Melbourne As Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Consultant, you will lead the coordination and implementation of health, safety and wellbeing strategies across the Berwick, Frankston and Langmore Centre divisions. Working closely with caregivers, managers and Health and Safety Representatives, you will provide expert advice and support, drive proactive safety and wellbeing initiatives, and foster a safe, healthy and compliant workplace culture aligned with organisational OHS objectives. This position is offered on a permanent full-time basis, working 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The Position Support OHS compliance and promote effective risk management across the organisation. Provide expert OHS advice to managers, supervisors and caregivers on workplace safety obligations. Coordinate risk assessments, workplace inspections and hazard management activities. Investigate incidents and support injury prevention, reporting and corrective actions. Contribute to OHS policies, wellbeing initiatives and continuous safety improvement programs. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of contemporary Occupational Health and Safety legislation, risk management principles and workplace safety practices. You will be experienced in providing practical OHS advice and support, conducting risk assessments, workplace inspections and incident investigations, and applying analytical thinking to identify solutions and drive continuous improvement. You will be a proactive and organised professional with the ability to manage competing priorities, build strong stakeholder relationships, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. A Diploma in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent tertiary qualification) and at least three years' experience in safety, risk, quality or a related field are highly desirable, as is experience within the healthcare sector and a commitment to quality improvement.
