This is an exciting full-time role within South Wales Police and supports our ongoing commitment to support police officers and staff who are experiencing psychological and physical ill health. About the team/Department you will be joining:
Our Occupational Health Team consist of two Senior Occupational Health Advisers, a Clinical Nurse and Clinical Support Nurse, Counsellors and other support staff.
The team work favourable hours covering Monday – Friday 9-5 with the added benefit of flexi leave, 24 days annual leave and home working.
You will be located within Occupational Health, Safety & Wellbeing in Bridgend although you may be expected to travel across the Force’s area and on rare occasions may be required to work outside normal office hours.

ABOUT THE ROLE AND YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will a provide a professional, proactive service to Police Officers, Police Staff and Senior Leaders regarding all areas of Occupational Health, including physical health, psychological health, the prevention of illness and the maintenance and improvement of health and wellbeing
You will offer occupational health advice around adjustments and support in the workplace, complete comprehensive reports, and signpost to counselling or other support if appropriate but would not counsel clients. There will be a mix of face-to-face assessments, telephone, and on-line advice to all department and staff.
You will be required to undertake a range of duties and tasks, including pre-employment and pre-placement medical assessments on new applicants, as well as undertaking routine and non-routine medical assessments on police officers and police staff in specialist roles, either in the Occupational Health & Wellbeing Services Unit or out in Divisions.
