Job Details Job Location: Ellicott City, MD 21043 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $75,000.00 - $89,000.00 Salary Salary range: $75,000 to $89,000. The occupational therapist (OT) is a passionate and innovative clinician serving on an interdisciplinary team in the non-public special education school setting. The OT is crucial in facilitating student occupational performance within the school and community for students with autism and related disorders. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Conducts screenings, informal assessment, and/or comprehensive standardized assessment of student skills relating to OT school-based needs to determine strengths and needs and formulate individualized education plans Participates in IEP meetings Delivers targeted, evidence-based therapeutic intervention through direct and indirect services Provides adaptive equipment and/or devices to the students as needed Develops and oversees student sensory protocols and feeding protocols, as appropriate Works in an interdisciplinary team and collaborates with parents/families, other professionals, and school personnel Adheres to student IEPs and associated documents (e.g. behavior intervention plans, communication protocols, etc.) Monitors and documents treatment and student progress according to state and federal regulations consistent with Medicaid requirements for reimbursement Completes all daily service logs, progress reports, and IEP documents within a timely manner according to facility, state, and federal guidelines Stays informed about latest evidence-based practices in the field of occupational therapy Maintains licensure and certification Adheres to AOTA code of ethics Supervises graduate students as able and needed Provides in-services to staff and family regarding various aspects of the field Adheres to Linwood School policies and procedures Qualifications Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited institution Valid Maryland OT license Valid certificate from the National Board of Certified Occupational Therapists (NBCOT) Experience in special education. Experience in Pediactics Must have a valid driver’s MD license and an acceptable driving record as determined by criteria established by the Agency’s insurance carrier and by Agency policy. Abilities: Possess a skill set that can interface professionally with Linwood staff, parents, school system personnel, and other professionals. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Physical Demands and Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Frequently required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, various forms of technology, or controls. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, run, or crawl. Must be able to work under regular, moderate levels of stress. Must be able to lift and move up to 10 lbs. regularly and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
