Position Summary The Occupational Therapist treats injured, ill, or disabled patients through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. This role helps patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working, with a focus on personalized care and functional independence. Responsibilities include: Evaluating patient needs and developing individualized treatment plans Implementing therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, coordination, and daily function Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery Documenting progress and adjusting care plans as needed Educating patients and caregivers on techniques for continued success post-discharge Benefits That Start Day One! ✅ Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance ✅ 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan ✅ HSA & FSA Options ✅ Up to 5 Weeks PTO ✅ Paid Parental Leave & Family Care Support ✅ Life Insurance & Extended Leave Plan ✅ Pet & Car Insurance ✅ 100% Paid Tuition + Loan Repayment Assistance Responsibilities Essential Functions• Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and significant other persons and data sources. • Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives. • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to treat and provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload. • Demonstrates the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to their age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as delineated in the departmental policies and procedures. • Demonstrates competency in the use, care and maintenance of profession specific equipment, observing safety precautions and providing verbal explanations of the equipment and its purpose. • Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plan and goals when appropriate, and prepares written documentation as required by the department, and the care team. • Recognizes and communicates when the patient has received optimal benefit from therapy. • Ensures complete documentation and accurate billing. • Adheres to State Practice Act and Standards of Practice.• Provides patient/family education as indicated.• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Qualifications Education/TrainingBachelor’s degree or higher from an approved program in occupational therapy.Licensure/Certification• Maintains current Occupational Therapist license in the State of Florida-temporary permit acceptable.• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.Experience2 years of NICU experience required.
