POSITION SUMMARY We are currently seeking an experienced registered Neuro Occupational Therapist (OT) consultant responsible for assessing, treating and remediating individuals with acquired brain injuries (ABI), dual diagnoses, and/or are in a minimally conscious state. The OT will have opportunities to develop and implement rehabilitation training programs while working with an interdisciplinary treatment team including but not limited to other Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Speech Therapists, Addictions Specialists, and more. The OT will assist our clients with functional performance of activities of daily living (ADLs), productivity, leisure, and self-maintenance skills. Performance in these skill areas will be analyzed in terms of perceptual, cognitive, sensory-motor, physical and socio-cultural components, as per the guidance of the College. This position is based out of our residential rehabilitation sites / clinic as well as in the community therefore travel within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) will be required. No minimum guaranteed hours (client-by-client basis). Education & Credentials Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario CPR / First Aid certification Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification Experience, Skills, Knowledge Minimum 3 years’ experience working with individuals with neurological/movement disorders and/or brain injury in residential, clinical, community, or health care settings Knowledge and experience across the rehabilitation spectrum: minimally conscious/total care, mental health and addiction challenges, dual diagnoses, behavioral issues, chronic pain Experience with hospital discharge planning, medical-legal report writing, and Future Care Cost Assessments Sensory Stimulation, Mindfulness, DBT, and CBT training Conflict resolution skills for addressing verbal aggression, physical/environmental aggression, elopement, and socially/sexually inappropriate behaviors Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and decision-making skills Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team Organizational skills and ability to complete tasks within allocated timeframes Technology proficiency Commitment to continual learning and professional development Other Flexibility regarding hours (including evenings, weekends, and mornings) for home assessments and rehabilitation Willingness to work at various residential locations and in the community as needed Driver’s license and access to a vehicle for travel between locations DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Full responsibility, compliance, accountability for all aspects of the client’s OT Assessments, treatment, and program in compliance with COTO Initial evaluation of each client according to department guidelines Deliver creative clinical programming to suit the needs of each client Maintain documentation of services according to organizational policies Attend meetings, including staff meetings, clinical meetings, and team meetings Understand various funders and their specific requirements: WSIB, WCB, MVA, Ministry, Private to include Form 1s, reporting, GOSE Provide clear direction and support to Managers and front-line staff which may include training on a variety of treatment modalities, scripts, strategies, and techniques Other OT related duties as assigned Adhere to Bayshore ICS Policies and Procedures Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties, notifying management of any Health & Safety risks or concerns Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information and discussing same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel Ready to join us?
