This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our newly designed locality teams supporting closer working with our social work and social care practitioner colleagues. There are opportunities to work in our North, East and South locality offices.
As an Occupational Therapist you will complete Care Act assessments and undertake reviews of care and support plans. You will utilise your Occupational Therapy skills in complex situations for people with long term physical and mental health diagnoses, ensuring up to date and innovative approaches. There will be opportunities to develop your skills around the prescription of specialist equipment, moving and handling and Postural and seating expertise.
The locality teams comprise of a Team Manager, Senior Occupational Therapist, Senior Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Social Care Practitioners/Occupational Therapy aide with a strong team ethos and a willingness to support each other in the work we do.
We ensure there is collaborative dialogue with individuals and work closely with Carers and care providers to ensure outcomes are met, seeking feedback from the individual in receipt of the service that then informs continuous improvement in approaches. The role entails working with housing adaptations practitioners, and specialist teams in community health. The team also has a specialist caseworker who supports the follow-up of interventions and sourcing alternative charitable funding in some cases.
You will have a full induction, supervision from experienced and very supportive colleagues, and opportunities for training and continuous professional development activities. We endeavour to ensure that everyone has opportunities to develop highly skilled, evidence-based practice, utilising the 4 pillars of the RCOT career development framework. We provide regular OT specific learning and development activities and also provide practice educators with a payment for supporting student placements.
