Location: 580 Shuswap Road, Kamloops, BC
Compensation: $55.00 – $65.00 per hour
Flexible Schedule: 15-25 hours per week, flexible on days / hours of work

We are currently seeking a dedicated and caring Occupational Therapist to join our team at Sun Rivers, our newly opened long-term care facility in Kamloops. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
  • Up to one year of recent related experience (new grads welcome).
  • A passion for working with older adults.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Basic understanding of adult education principles, methods, and tools.

    Pay: $60.00-$65.00 per hour

Responsibilities

As an Occupational Therapist, you will support residents’ functional independence and quality of life through thoughtful assessments, personalized interventions, and collaborative care planning. Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing residents’ occupational and functional status and developing individualized care plans.
  • Implementing and evaluating therapy programs, including fall prevention and chronic pain management strategies.
  • Educating residents and care teams on mobility, occupational function, and leisure activities.
  • Recommending and supporting the use of adaptive devices to enhance independence.
  • Providing seating and positioning assessments to ensure comfort and pressure relief.
  • Attending care conferences and family meetings to provide insight and recommendations.
  • Participating in the development and evaluation of policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Performing other related duties as required.
