JOB DESCRIPTION

The Occupational Therapist (OT) supports individuals in regaining, developing, or maintaining the skills needed for daily living and meaningful participation. This role involves assessing client needs, designing personalized interventions, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to promote independence and wellbeing.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with the relevant professional board (e.g., AHPRA in Australia)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Empathy, patience, and a client-centered approach
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Experience in aged care, disability, or rehabilitation settings is highly valued
  • Reliable

  • Treatment Planning: Develop and implement tailored therapy plans to address functional limitations.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Use evidence-based techniques to improve mobility, coordination, and self-care.
  • Environmental Modifications: Recommend changes to home or work environments to enhance safety and accessibility.
  • Education & Support: Provide guidance to clients and families on managing conditions and using assistive devices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare professionals, support workers, and case managers to ensure holistic care.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of assessments, progress notes, and treatment outcomes.
