Identify barriers to independence and daily functioning, creating customized occupational therapy programs. Address challenges in mobility, self-care, social participation, and cognitive function. Provide interventions to help residents recover from injuries, surgeries, or illnesses, and manage chronic conditions like arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, or post-stroke recovery. Assist residents with tasks of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, eating) and train on adaptive equipment. Conduct cognitive and balance exercises to enhance memory, problem-solving, decision-making, and reduce fall risk. Assess living spaces to recommend modifications for safety and accessibility. Educate residents, families, and staff on therapy goals, fall prevention, and safe mobility techniques. Collaborate with PTs, SLPs, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic resident care. Maintain accurate records of assessments, treatments, and progress, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and community policies. Responsibilities
