Description
As a member of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team, the Occupational Therapist provides assessment, treatment, and education to an adult population presenting with perception, cognition and motor skills problems in their home and/or community. Supervision and teaching of Rehabilitation Therapists is an integral part of the position. 1. Current Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario 2. Graduate of an approved School of Occupational Therapy 3. Recent experience (within the last 2 years) in the rehabilitation care of clients with acquired brain injuries 4. Demonstrated ability to provide assessment and treatment interventions for clients with perception, cognition and motor skills problems considering and supporting with transition into the community. 5. Knowledge and understanding of manual wheelchair seating and bed positioning, with an understanding of funding sources 6. Demonstrated ability in program evaluation, quality assurance and research 7. Demonstrated leadership ability 8. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing 9. Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle preferred 10. Demonstrated experience working with individuals with acquired brain injury and complex rehabilitation needs including cognitive, behavioural and mental health issues. 11. Experience working with individuals with mental health/addiction issues.
