Description
As a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, the Occupational Therapist provides assessment, treatment interventions, program planning and implementation and discharge planning for patients with stroke. Supervision and teaching of Occupational Therapy Assistants is an integral part of the position. The Occupational Therapist will provide service on either 7South or B2North. 1. Registered with the College of Occupational Therapist of Ontario 2. Graduate of an approved program in Occupational Therapy 3. Demonstrated excellent communication skills and experience in providing education to clients, family caregivers, and health-care providers 4. Demonstrated experience working with OTAs 5. Demonstrated proficiency in equipment prescription and functional upper extremity training 6. Excellent time management, problem-solving and team work skills 7. Excellent verbal/written communication 8. Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle 9. ADP Authorizer preferred 10. Knowledge of Best Practice Guidelines for Stroke care is an asset
