JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and a passion for helping individuals achieve their maximum potential through therapeutic interventions. This role involves working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities, providing essential support in various settings such as outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • Familiarity with skilled nursing facility operations and post-acute care processes is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology related to occupational therapy practices.
  • Experience in speech therapy techniques is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients’ needs and develop personalized care plans to enhance their ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving patients’ physical, emotional, and cognitive functioning.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive discharge planning and continuity of care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and progress.
  • Document patient progress accurately and maintain up-to-date medical records using appropriate medical terminology.
  • Work with individuals with autism, providing tailored interventions that promote engagement and skill development.
  • Utilize knowledge of physiology and anatomy to inform treatment strategies for various conditions.
  • Conduct evaluations in acute care settings, including ICU environments, to determine rehabilitation needs.
  • Engage in early intervention strategies for pediatric patients to foster developmental growth.
  • Participate in case management activities to coordinate care across different service providers.
  • Offer support in outpatient settings as well as during inpatient stays, ensuring a holistic approach to patient rehabilitation.
