REQUIREMENTS

  • A Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Active licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO).
  • Paediatric experience is highly valued.
  • Ability to speak another language is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong skills in case management and collaborative care.
  • Excellent communication skills with children, families, and colleagues.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a caring and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our team! In this role, you’ll assess and treat clients with various physical, emotional, and developmental needs, with a special focus on kids’ care. Working closely with other care professionals, you’ll create personalized treatment plans that will help children achieve independence in their daily activities and improving their overall quality of life.

DUTIES

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving clients’ ability to perform daily living activities.
  • Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other care professionals, including speech-language pathologists, communicative disorders assistants, education instructors, etc, to provide holistic care.
  • Educate caregivers about treatment options, home exercises, and strategies for maximizing independence.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes using relevant medical terminology.
