Description The primary purpose of the Occupational Therapist is to screen and/or evaluate, and treat all residents with abnormal function related to an injury, disability, or other health condition, to assist them in reaching and maintaining their potential for independence in activities of daily living. Requirements Graduate of an approved course in Occupational Therapy, Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate degree, from an accredited school. Licensed to practice OT in NYS, and currently registered by the state’s Education Department. Experience in geriatric rehabilitation preferred.
Responsibilities
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for screening, evaluating, and treating residents with abnormal functions due to injuries or health conditions. The goal is to assist residents in achieving and maintaining independence in their daily activities.
