Specific qualifications for the OT role include: · Current OT License within the State of New Mexico · 1 year minimum experience · Home Health experience preferred · Graduate of an accredited school of occupational therapy: Bachelors/ Master’s degree preferred · Reliable transportation Occupational Therapist (OT) Job Description: · Providing initial and ongoing assessment to determine level of functioning. · A Occupational therapist gathers background data, reviews referrals, selects and modifies evaluation tools, and evaluates patients determining the level of patient’s physical and psychosocial functioning. · Developing and revising the plan of care in consultation with the physician and other care-team members. · Responsible for planning, evaluation, and treatment implementation of assigned caseload. · Preparing clinical progress notes. · Supervising therapy assistants and home health aides as appropriate. · Evaluating outcomes. · Planning Discharge. · Educate patients and/or families about proper safe use and recommend methods for installation of adaptive equipment. · Responsibilities may also include the training of students from university or community colleges assigned.
Responsibilities
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for assessing patients' physical and psychosocial functioning and developing a plan of care in consultation with the care team. They also supervise therapy assistants, prepare clinical notes, and educate patients and families on adaptive equipment.
