Northern Star Supports is a rapidly growing early intervention and disability organisation servicing Newcastle and the Hunter Valley. We are seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our transdisciplinary team of therapists, developmental teachers, and key workers.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As an Occupational Therapist at Northern Star Support, you will be part of an amazing, supportive team dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of children and their families. Your role will focus on delivering high-quality, client-centered therapy to help children develop functional skills, independence, and confidence in their daily lives.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Deliver therapy aligned with the National Best Practice Guidelines for Early Childhood Intervention.
  • Work collaboratively within a transdisciplinary key worker model to provide holistic, family-focused support.
  • Conduct assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions for sensory processing, motor skills, daily living activities, and equipment prescription.
  • Support families to embed strategies into daily routines to help their child achieve prioritised goals.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • A Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration.
  • A passion for working with children, including those with developmental delays and disabilities.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A current Working with Children Check, Police Check, and NDIS Worker Screening.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across Newcastle and the Hunter Valley
