Job Summary: The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the organization and implementation of medically prescribed Occupational Therapy treatment programs, evaluating patients for appropriate exercises and activities, constructing appropriate splints and adaptive devices, and by evaluating and documenting the patient's progress related to rehabilitation. They also helps the patient reach their maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of his/her capabilities. All duties and responsibilities are to be carried out with empathy and compassion towards patients and their families as well as co-workers. Minimum Requirements:  * BS/MS/OTD in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.  * Current license from the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners.  * Experience preferred but not required.  * The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit.   * The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's departmental policies and procedures.. * Deliver outstanding customer service that upholds CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence. ** Sign on bonus of $10,000.00 for qualified, full time candidates ** Relocation up to $7,000.00 for full time candidates per HR guidelines
