Description Occupational Therapist (OT) Where Clinical Excellence, Collaboration, and Purpose Come Together Florence Presbyterian Community — Florence, SC Faith-Based Nonprofit | In-House Therapy Model | Full-Time Position A Nationally Recognized Rehab Community Florence Presbyterian Community is proud to be recognized for the quality of its care and therapy outcomes: - CMS 5-Star Rated Skilled Nursing Facility - U.S. News & World Report: Best Nursing Home for Short-Term Rehabilitation You can view our national recognition here: https://health.usnews.com/best-nursing-homes These designations reflect what therapists experience at Florence: strong hospital relationships, high-acuity short-term rehab, excellent interdisciplinary collaboration, and a culture that puts quality ahead of quotas. A Place Where Your Clinical Voice Matters At Florence Presbyterian Community, therapy is not an add-on to the system — it is a core driver of outcomes. As part of Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina (PCSC), you join a mission-driven, in-house therapy team that is growing intentionally to meet the needs of one of the strongest short-term rehab and outpatient populations in the region. Florence has long-standing partnerships with area hospitals, making it a trusted destination for medically complex short-term rehab patients. At the same time, the campus serves a small and charming residential and outpatient population, giving therapists the rare opportunity to treat across the continuum of care without ever leaving the community. Here, your work has both immediate impact and long-term meaning. Shared Decision-Making Is How We Practice One of the defining features of Florence is its culture of shared leadership and collaboration — not only within the therapy department, but across the entire interdisciplinary team. OTs are active participants in: - Care planning - Transitions and discharges - Goal setting - Problem-solving with nursing, case management, and physicians This is not a top-down model. It is a team-driven, patient-centered system where therapists are respected for their expertise. Why Therapists Choose Our In-House Model At PCSC, therapy is not outsourced — it is built, led, and protected inside the organization. Clinical Autonomy You Can Trust - Your professional judgment — not corporate productivity formulas — guides how care is delivered. True Interdisciplinary Collaboration - OTs have a real voice in clinical decisions, scheduling, and care coordination. Stability You Can Build a Career On - PCSC’s nonprofit, in-house model has produced low turnover, financial stability, and consistently strong quality outcomes across its communities. What Makes Florence Unique Florence offers a rare blend of high-level clinical work and healthy work-life balance. High-Performing Short-Term Rehab Program - OTs treat medically complex patients with true one-on-one care and full IDT support. Residential & Outpatient Therapy on the Same Campus - You can treat short-term rehab residents and long-term community members in the same day — creating continuity, relationships, and professional variety. A Supportive, Balanced Team - Florence blends seasoned clinicians, newer therapists, and skilled assistants into a team that truly supports one another. Stable Hours with Real Flexibility - Therapists have predictable schedules — and a culture of mutual coverage. When someone needs flexibility, the team steps up. This is how work-life balance is protected, not promised. Leadership That Is Steady, Fair, and Invested in You Your Director of Rehab leads with: Empathy: understanding people, not just performance Responsibility: strong follow-through and ownership Harmony: calm, fair, respectful leadership Developer: growing students, assistants, and therapists Consistency: clear expectations and reliable systems Therapists describe this leadership style as supportive, fair, and deeply invested in helping people succeed. As part of the team, you may: - Mentor Level I and Level II OT/OTA students - Help shape the next generation of clinicians - Strengthen academic partnerships across South Carolina - Deepen your own clinical reasoning through teaching Therapists consistently report that mentoring students makes their work more meaningful and their skills sharper.
