JOB SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team in Salmon Arm, BC. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing client-specific treatment plans aimed at promoting independence in daily living activities. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to support the overall well-being of clients in a long-term care setting.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Must be registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
  • Previous experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or community health is an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full immunization records (DTAP, HepB, MMR)
  • 2-step negative TB and or chest Xray (6 months)
  • Current CPR certification and valid driver’s license (if applicable).

Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments of clients’ physical, cognitive, and functional abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support independence in activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Recommend and train clients in the use of assistive devices and adaptive strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate treatment outcomes, making modifications as necessary.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care planning.
  • Educate clients, families, and staff on techniques to support client goals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
