POSITION SUMMARY

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the management of inpatients and outpatients according to the occupational therapist’s designated rotation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent with evidence of ongoing professional development required.
  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario required.
  • Eligible for membership with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists and the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapy required.
  • 1-3 years experience working with patients of various ages with neurological and orthopaedic diagnosis in the acute and rehabilitation phases of assessment and treatment an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to function collaboratively and effectively within an interdisciplinary team and with the community partners.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, sound clinical judgment, flexibility and initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and other professionals.
  • Demonstrated superior organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated awareness of community supports and services for identified populations would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously in a demanding environment demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills, an excellent attendance records.
