JOB DESCRIPTION

Thrive Therapy is currently seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our growing team as an employee on a part-time (0.4-0.8) basis.
New grads welcome to apply. Experienced Occupational Therapists will be compensated accordingly.
The position involves providing services to children and youth within school and community settings.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Occupational Therapy, from an accredited University.
• Current registration with the Nova Scotia Occupational Therapy Regulator (NSOTR).
• Professional liability insurance.
• Legal ability to work in Canada.
• Criminal background check and vulnerable sector check required.

• Assess the strengths and needs of clients referred for Occupational Therapy through formal and informal evaluations, as well as consultation with families, caregivers, and other community partners (e.g., schools, psychologists, care facilities, etc.).
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on assessment findings, and re-evaluate progress at regular intervals.
• Collaborate with clients, families/caregivers, and relevant community partners to support goal development and implementation.
• Work independently to complete assessments, documentation, and follow-up in a timely and professional manner.
• Experience or interest in areas such as mental health, sensory processing, emotional regulation, trauma-informed care, fine motor skills, self-care and daily living skills, and relationship-based approaches across the lifespan.
• Strong report writing and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with clients, families/caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams.
