UPMC is looking for a flexible Occupational Therapist to join their team at UPMC Somerset! As an Occupational Therapist with us, you'll provide occupational therapy assessment and treatment using advanced clinical skills in a specialty area of occupational therapy for patients referred to non-contracted and contracted facilities of the Rehabilitation Institute. Serves as a clinical resource for other staff members. May have an individual agreement with an academic institution for instructional services. Participates in research conducted within the Rehabilitation Institute. Responsibilities: Keep detailed records for all occupational therapy services, including initial assessments, follow-ups, and discharge summaries. Biweekly co-signing of occupational therapy assistant's documentation. Communicate patient updates to the referring physician and healthcare team. Record charges and statistics to reflect services provided to patients accurately. Schedule patients to meet or exceed productivity standards while ensuring quality care. Offer verbal or written home instructions to patients and families when needed. Supervise clinical internships for students from various universities as part of the organization's educational program. Maintain professional licensure by engaging in ongoing education and professional development. Assess, reassess, and treat occupational therapy patients, and supervise assistants in providing care to a diverse age range. Develop and adjust treatment plans based on physician referrals and patient responses. Rotate through different treatment areas as required. Participate in staff meetings and educational in-services actively. Graduate of an accredited program approved by The Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Active license in practicing state required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
