Support young people to build independence, wellbeing and recovery skills.   About the role An exciting opportunity exists for an Occupational Therapist to join Barwon Health's newly established Youth Prevention and Recovery Care (YPARC) service. This innovative 10-bed residential program provides recovery-oriented, trauma-informed mental health support for young people aged 16–25 years as an alternative to hospital admission or as a supported transition from inpatient care back into the community. Working within a 24/7 therapeutic environment, the Occupational Therapist will form part of a multidisciplinary team delivering individual, family and group-based interventions that support functional recovery, independence and meaningful community participation. The role provides occupational therapy assessment and intervention, contributing to comprehensive assessment, treatment planning and recovery-focused care that helps young people build confidence, strengthen daily living skills and achieve their personal recovery goals.   Key Responsibilities Deliver occupational therapy assessments and evidence-informed interventions to support recovery, wellbeing and functional outcomes. Facilitate individual, family and group-based therapeutic programs within a recovery-oriented and trauma-informed framework. Contribute to multidisciplinary assessment, treatment planning and care coordination to support positive consumer outcomes.   What We Are Looking For We are seeking a passionate and recovery-focused Occupational Therapist who is committed to supporting young people experiencing mental ill-health. You will bring strong clinical skills, a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary practice and a genuine commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed care. You will also demonstrate: Qualification in Occupational Therapy with eligibility for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA). Experience or interest in youth mental health, psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery-oriented practice. Strong assessment, intervention and care planning skills. The ability to work collaboratively with young people, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
