The OT Aide position will work directly under an OTR/L who will complete all the OT evaluations and develop OT goals for referred clients from the IHBTC and Sails residential placement. OT goals will be included in the clients Treatment Plan/IAP. The OT Aide will provide individual, and group therapeutic activities as prescribed by the OTR/L, reporting back all progress towards goals to the OTR on a regular basis. Treatment: Provides therapeutic activities as prescribed by the OTR to all referred clients, by conducting individual and group OT programing. 1. Follows OTR’s recommendations for using appropriate activities/methods/modalities to implement OT goals on treatment plans. Approve schedule through OTR, prior to implementation. 2. Maintains a minimum of 50% direct service contact in client programming on a monthly basis per BSCS policy. 3. Reports orally to OTR any relevant observations and information on client’s behavior in tx sessions, during weekly supervision, or if safety issues are present /or a concern immediately following the tx session. 4. Notifies OTR of all schedule changes. 5. Interacts with all clients in a supportive, therapeutic, and respectful manner, as specified in Code of Conduct. 6. Interacts with all staff in a professional and courteous manner, as specified in Code of Conduct. 7. Maintains OT program areas in residential settings to ensure that they are clean, safe, and secure. Notifies supervisor/area coordinator of all service needs. 8. Completes preparation and set up of materials to conduct therapeutic activities as recommended by OTR, following BSCS policies, including submitting of stock/service/travel and/or purchase requisition forms as necessary for planned group and individual tx OT session activities. Documentation: Documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner. 1. Treatment notes include relevant, accurate observations and clinical information about the client’s functional presentation in the activity, addresses the client’s OT goals, progress towards OT goals, and is completed and submitted to the electronic medical record and reviewed in supervision with the OTR on a weekly basis. 2. Maintains database of all OT referred cases and status of current OT tx including, assessments recommended and completed, current OT tx goals, and progress towards goal. Reviews content of database with OTR in weekly supervision. Professional Development/Assigned Meetings: Attends supervision, departmental meetings, and continuing educational opportunities. 1. Attends OTR supervision a minimum of 1 time per week, as scheduled and as needed; engages actively in process and incorporates feedback from supervision in future performance. 2. Attends Group Supervision Meetings and Residential Home Staff meetings as scheduled, notifying supervisor of any excused leaves. 3. Attends three (3) trainings and educational programs as offered by BSCS. 4. Provided OT topic in-services to Residential and IHBTC staff 4 times a year. Staff Development: Completes all assigned mandatory staff development classes Schedule: 20 hours per week in the Intensive HomebasedTherapeutic Care program (homebased program) and 20 hours per week in SE SAILS (adolescent group home in Quincy, MA); This is a full time work opportunity.
