Shift Pattern: Fulltime Days, 37.5-hours a week.

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant to support the delivery of high-quality therapeutic services to individuals with diverse needs. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist, assisting in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of therapy programmes that promote independence, wellbeing, and recovery.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a healthcare, mental health, or social care setting (desirable but not always essential).
  • NVQ/QCF Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent (advantageous).
  • Willingness to undertake training relevant to the role.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Occupational Therapists in delivering individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Support service users in developing daily living skills, social skills, and coping strategies.
  • Encourage engagement in meaningful activities that promote independence, confidence, and wellbeing.
  • Prepare, adapt, and maintain therapeutic equipment and resources.
  • Observe, record, and report service users’ progress, behaviours, and responses to therapy.
  • Support care planning and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions.
  • Promote a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment in line with professional and organisational standards.
  • Encourage service users’ participation in community integration and rehabilitation programmes.
  • Undertake administrative tasks such as maintaining accurate records and updating care plans.
