Are you looking for career development in Adult Mental Health specialising in Adult Eating Disorder?
Located in the City of Cambridge, Ward S3 sits within the grounds of Addenbrookes Hospital and provides exceptional career development opportunities in the recovery focused care of adults experiencing difficulties associated with a diagnosis of eating disorder.
We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated band 4 Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our S3 team, to provide support to our band 7 Occupational Therapist and the MDT, to deliver excellent care to our patients.

The successful applicant will be one of 2 Occupational therapy Assistants within the team.

  • The post holder will work in partnership with the patients and the Occupational Therapist formulating plans and providing programmes of therapeutic activities, within the framework laid down by the Occupational Therapist.

We aim to provide a therapeutic environment offering planned care and treatment focusing on psychosocial interventions, group work skills, pharmacological interventions and individual recovery plans. We provide a safe, supportive environment to enable people to recover sufficiently to be able to function to their optimum level and face challenges back in the community.
To implement and evaluate delegated Occupational Therapy intervention programmes, including supporting patients with meal preparation.
To assist the multi-disciplinary team, in offering a comprehensive treatment programme, and ensure that this is updated to meet the needs of the clients.
To utilise knowledge and experience of the Occupational Therapy Assessment process within the content of the specific area of work
In conjunction with the Occupational Therapist to undertake Occupational Therapy assessments to identify needs, leading to formulation and implementation of individual treatment programmes and evaluation.
To participate in assessment, goal identification, planning and delivery of care to individual clients and groups of clients.

The post holder will work collaboratively with all disciplines as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assure a high standard of care for patient/clients and their relatives/carers, under supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
To implement and evaluate delegated Occupational Therapy intervention programmes, including supporting patients with meal preparation.
All modifications to treatment plans/interventions will involve the service user and where appropriate the carer.
To work with the Occupational Therapist and ward team.
Caseload to work with service users on ward S3.
To assist the multi-disciplinary team, in offering a comprehensive treatment programme, and ensure that this is updated to meet the needs of the clients.
Working under the regular supervision of a Senior Occupational Therapist, the Technical Instructor utilises their technical skills, the OT assistant uses their experience and training, and the skills of the Occupational Therapist to provide appropriate treatment to both individual clients and groups.
To utilise knowledge and experience of the Occupational Therapy Assessment process within the content of the specific area of work.
In conjunction with the Occupational Therapist to undertake Occupational Therapy assessments to identify needs, leading to formulation and implementation of individual treatment programmes and evaluation
