Description

The role will include:
Promoting Independence & Quality of Life – With a focus on understanding a person’s abilities and support needs to maximise independence and improve quality of life. Developing practical routines and strategies to help individuals navigate daily life with confidence.
Creating Supportive Environments - Assessing environments and recommending equipment, adaptations, or changes to promote safety, independence, and wellbeing; creating the least restrictive, most enabling setting possible.
Empowering Staff Teams – Providing coaching, advice, and training for our staff teams — helping them feel confident and equipped in their support role. Finding strategies that work and fit realistically into daily life.
Advocating for the Individual – Commitment to advocating for each person we work with — especially those who may not be able to speak up for themselves.
Collaboration – Working closely with professionals to make appropriate referrals, ensuring the right support. Collaborating with multi-agency teams to create clear care needs assessments.
Communication – Enabling individuals to develop effective communication skills to express their needs, thoughts, and feelings, which enhance their quality of life and promote social interactions.
Sensory Strategies –Identifying how individuals process and respond to sensory information. Establishing any areas of difficulty and developing strategies and techniques to address them. Planning and delivering sensory programmes, in our dedicated therapy suite.
Salary range is £28,407 to £34,581 per year pro rata (3 days per week). Person ideally needs to have experience working with people with learning disabilities and autism and have sensory integration therapy qualifications.
