We’re looking for an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) who is passionate about patient-centered care and thrives in a supportive, collaborative environment. Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our interdisciplinary team in a skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will assist in delivering high-quality occupational therapy services to residents, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life through therapeutic interventions. Benefits – Begin 1st day of Full Time Employment Competitive salary Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off (PTO) and holidays Supportive work environment with opportunities for professional growth Key Responsibilities Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist to improve residents’ functional abilities Provide direct patient care in accordance with state regulations and facility policies Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive techniques and equipment Collaborate with nursing staff, physical therapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system Participate in care planning meetings and contribute to discharge planning Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA and CMS guidelines Qualifications Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program Current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) Valid state license to practice as a COTA Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Commitment to patient-centered care and rehabilitation excellence Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as an Occupational Therapist Assistant required Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate electronic documentation Areas of Responsibility: Under supervision of an Occupational Therapist and in accordance with an established plan of care, provides prescribed occupational therapy treatment and services, instruction, and guidance to patients with functional limitations. Other duties as assigned, within scope of practice Communication with interdisciplinary team with focus on case managing patient's needs, not minutes!
